A Message from the Principals desk.

Welcome to the Turfhall Primary School’s website.

As you browse through the various pages of our website, you will come across a wealth of information detailing this institution’s present and past.

We believe that our school has a rich and unique history starting out as a Catholic School named

St. Ignatius Primary in Claremont, to its relocation due to the Group Areas Act; to its reopening on its  present site near the end of 1977 as Turfhall Primary School.

We are a values-based institution and our learners are constantly reminded to practise the values as enshrined in our learner code of conduct such as respect and tolerance.

At our school, we believe in developing learners to be the best they can be, through a focus on holistic education where extra and co-curricular activities alongside the academics are important.

Our teachers are caring, hardworking and experienced and are well supported by support staff members who continue to enhance our premises, so that we are always “a school with a view” not only of the world-famous Table Mountain, but with a view to always providing the best education in a safe environment that we can offer..
